Abstract

Green, high-tech, and intelligent manufacturing are important directions for the development of China's industrial economy. With the acceleration of digitalization and the promotion of energy conservation and carbon reduction, the high energy consuming manufacturing industry continues to optimize and upgrade, and the digital economy has had a significant impact on the development of the high energy consuming manufacturing industry.  This article is based on data from 31 provinces in China from 2012 to 2022, using entropy weight method, fixed effects model, and spatial econometric model to study the spatial effects and agglomeration level of the digital economy on the agglomeration of high energy consuming manufacturing industry. Research has found that: The overall level of digital economy in various provinces of China is gradually improving, with rapid development in the central region. At the same time, differences still exist between and within the eastern, central, and western regions. There is spatial dependence on the agglomeration level of high energy-consuming manufacturing industries among different provinces.
