Athanasios Stasinakis holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering (University of the Aegean, 2002). He has significance experience in the field of wastewater engineering as well as in environmental pollution from heavy metals and synthetic organic compounds. He has over 35 publications in international refereed journals and over 50 participations in international conferences. His research work has received more than 600 citations. He is reviewer of more than 30 scientific journals and evaluator of international and national research proposals/grants. He has participated as researcher or coordinator in 15 research projects. He is currently the coordinator of WATERMICROPOL project (http://www.aegean.gr/environment/watermicropol/) which investigates the fate of selected micropollutants during wastewater treatment and disposal.
