Dimitris Komilis is an assistant professor of Solid Waste Management in the Dept. of Environmental Engineering (Democritus University of Thrace) in Xanthi, Greece.
He graduated from the Department of Environment at the University of the Aegean and holds a M.Sc. (with honors) and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA). He has worked as an environmental consultant and as a special scientist in the Ministry of Development. He conducts research on several aspects of solid waste management (emphasis on MSW) and teaches solid waste related courses and statistical experimental design
