Alessandra Cesaro is Associate Professor at the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering of the University of Napoli Federico II.

In February 2009 she graduated cum laude as M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering at the University of Salerno, where in 2013 she received her Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2009 she was visiting researcher at the University of Stuttgart (Germany) and in 2012 she performed both teaching and research activity at the Technical University of Hamburg (Germany), working in cooperation with Ultrawaves GmbH.

Her research activity focuses on the identification of waste valorisation strategies in a circular economy perspective. More recently, prof. Cesaro has been widening her scientific interests towards the environmental impact assessment via Life Cycle Assessment methodology. She participated in several national and international research projects, and she is currently the Principal Investigator of the project “Towards the decarbonization of tile industry through an innovative semi-wet granulated technology for porcelain tiles (INNOVATILE)”, funded under the Interreg Next Med Programme.

She has co-authored more than 100 publications in indexed scientific journals, and she is Editorial Board Member of Energies journal (Section B4 - Hydrogen Energy, MDPI). In October 2022 she has been qualified to the full professorship.
