Wind energy location prediction between meteorological stations using ANN
Sustainable Energy
Wind Energy is one of the important sources of renewable energy. There is a need to prepare the availability of wind energy in the area where there is no measured wind speed data. For this type of situation, it seems to be necessary to predict the wind energy potential using such as wind speed using...
Assessment of the Role of Photovoltaic Systems in Reducing the Carbon Footprint of Wastewater Treatment Plants
Hydrology and Water Resources Management
Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) consume large amounts of energy and thus cause an increase in carbon footprint. For this reason, it has become important not only to meet the discharge criteria in treatment plants, but also to reduce the carbon footprint resulting from treatment processes and...
Production of renewable energy on closed landfills to compensate for biogas emissions: A case study of the Valdina landfill (Messina, Italy)
Solid Waste Management
The contribution of integrated municipal solid waste (MSW) management systems to greenhouse gas emissions is not negligible, even though it is moderate compared with other anthropogenic activities. The main emission from landfills that accept biodegradable MSW is methane that escapes from the biogas...
Assessment of wind energy potential in East Azarbaijan province of Iran (Case Stady: Sahand station)
Sustainable Energy
Today's world requires a change in how the use of different types of energy. With declining reserves of fossil fuels for renewable energies is of course the best alternative. Among the renewable energy from the wind can be considered one of the best forms of energy can be introduced. Accordingly...

A Novel Model Predictive-Fuzzy Logic Hybrid Controller Design for D-STATCOM in Wind Energy Distribution Systems
Environmental Sciences
Wind energy is a resource that does not require any fuel or feedstock to be treated, refined or transported. It does not produce air pollution and hazardous waste. Because of these, wind energy, one of the major renewable energy sources, has been widely used in recent years. In this work, a three...
Optimizing operation of a large-scale pumped storage hydropower system coordinated with wind farm by means of genetic algorithms
Protection and restoration of the environment
Due to the intermittent and fluctuating nature of wind and other renewable energy sources, their integration into electricity systems requires large-scale and flexible storage systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply and to reduce the percentage of produced energy that is discarded or curtailed...
A multicriteria approach to evaluate offshore wind farms siting in Greece
